Streaming Access · Regions & Playback Requirements

Streaming regions and access

A connected route doesn’t guarantee a video will play. Check the platform region first, then review your account, exit IP and picture quality requirements.

X5VPN covers 110+ countries and 180+ routes, with no device limit. Coverage describes network routes; it does not mean every streaming platform in every region has been verified to work.

What this page can confirm

There is currently no publicly verifiable, platform-by-platform list of supported regions, so none are marked as supported below. Check the route details in your panel, the platform’s current message and actual playback after connecting. Platform policies, content rights and exit IP detection can change.

View route list

Platform availability.Check each region individually.

The table below lists popular streaming platforms and what to check; it is not a list of unlocked catalogs. “To be confirmed” means no availability claim is supported by the available facts. It does not mean access is definitely unavailable, nor does it guarantee playback after connecting. “Suggested route” indicates what to test, not a dedicated streaming route or specific exit IP provided by X5VPN.

Assess the region based on the platform’s current service area, account eligibility and the catalog you want to access. A region in a server name does not prove the platform will identify the exit IP as being there. If the panel has no available route for your target region, a nearby region is not a substitute for verifying that catalog.

Regional availability check: no regions are verified; test after connecting
Platform Regions to check Availability Suggested route and what to check
Netflix Region where the target catalog is available Confirm after connecting Route for the target region in the panel; check whether the title plays in full
Disney+ Platform service area and eligible account regions Confirm after connecting Route for the corresponding region in the panel; check for differences between account region and catalog
HBO Max Regions where the service is currently offered Confirm after connecting Route for the corresponding region in the panel; first confirm the local service is available
Hulu Regions currently allowed by the platform Confirm after connecting Route for the corresponding region in the panel; check household network and location verification requirements
YouTube Premium Regions where membership benefits apply Confirm after connecting Route for the corresponding region in the panel; distinguish video playback from membership eligibility
Prime Video Account market and regions where titles are licensed Confirm after connecting Route for the corresponding region in the panel; check membership, rentals and purchases, and catalog access
BBC iPlayer Regions where the platform operates Confirm after connecting Route for the corresponding region in the panel; check location and eligibility requirements

On narrow screens, scroll the table horizontally. An X5VPN subscription does not include membership, film rentals or purchases, or other content rights for these platforms.

What does “access” mean?

Streaming access generally means a platform allows you to use a service or view a regional catalog based on your current network exit. It does not modify video files or grant access to paid content. The network layer provides the connection path; the platform controls account subscriptions, catalog rights, age settings and local terms of use.

Distinguish between “the homepage loads,” “the title appears in search” and “the full video plays.” The homepage may use cached content, while search results and playback authorization may rely on different checks. A route that shows a catalog does not prove a particular title will play, let alone every title on the platform.

Platforms may also use account region, payment market, device location, session history and IP databases to determine your location. Changing your network exit alone may not change your account’s market. YouTube Premium membership, Prime Video rental and purchase rights, and Hulu household network requirements cannot be reduced to simply switching routes.

The most reliable check is to use your own valid account, connect to the target route, open the title and try playing it. The result applies only to that platform, account, device and exit combination at that time; it is not a guarantee of ongoing availability.

Native IPs vs. residential IPs

“Native IP” is a common industry term, but its meaning is not consistent. It generally refers to an IP whose registration details and location in IP databases match its actual exit region. Providers and lookup tools may use different criteria. When you see this label, check whether it refers to the registered location, announced location or a platform’s own identification result.

“Residential IP” generally describes an address associated with a residential network or ISP. It is not the same thing as a native IP: the former concerns network access and address classification, while the latter concerns regional attribution. A residential classification does not mean the IP is dedicated or that a platform will accept it. Likewise, a data center IP alone does not prove playback will fail.

IEPL, transit and direct connection describe how traffic travels; they do not indicate whether the exit is residential or from a data center. Whether a dedicated line improves streaming depends on the full route and current network conditions. Platform access also depends on exit IP detection and account eligibility. Assess route type and exit IP attributes separately to avoid choosing based on the wrong label.

X5VPN’s published information does not specify native, residential or dedicated IP configurations, and this page makes no claims about their availability. If your streaming needs depend on a particular exit IP attribute, describe the target platform and region in a panel ticket. First confirm what can be verified, then decide whether it meets your needs.

4K and Dolby Vision picture quality requirements

4K refers to picture resolution, while Dolby Vision is an HDR format. They are different features and are not always available together. The picture quality you can access depends on the title version, membership tier, playback app, operating system, display and connection path—not just your network plan.

Bandwidth matters, but there is no single threshold that applies to every platform and title. Encoding, compression and scene complexity affect the actual bitrate, so check the target platform’s current official picture quality requirements instead of relying on one speed test figure. This page has no verified platform bandwidth data and makes no general speed guarantees.

For uninterrupted playback, sustained throughput and stability are more useful than a brief speed test peak. If the network slows temporarily, the player may use its buffer before lowering picture quality; ongoing fluctuations can cause repeated loading. Try pausing other high-bandwidth tasks, comparing the same title under similar conditions and checking whether the connection itself drops frequently.

If playback is smooth but picture quality stays low, first check your account benefits, whether the title offers that version, app support, and whether your screen and external display connection meet content protection requirements. Browser and desktop app capabilities can differ. Dolby Vision may also be unavailable because your device supports another HDR format; changing routes may not help.

Post-connection verification steps

  1. Check your account and content eligibility. First confirm your membership status, the target title and the platform’s service region. If you see a rental or membership upgrade prompt, address content eligibility rather than treating it as a network problem.
  2. Choose a target route in the panel. Use a region and route actually listed in the panel, then keep the exit stable after connecting. Avoid switching regions repeatedly during playback, as this can interfere with session and location checks.
  3. Check that the app uses the selected connection. Split tunneling rules may send your browser and player through different routes. Check the client’s current mode and app routing settings so the website does not detect the target region while the playback app still uses your original exit.
  4. Start a fresh playback session. Once the connection is stable, close and reopen the platform app, then test the title. If the old region still appears, clear the site cache as instructed by the platform. Before doing so, make sure you can sign in again to avoid losing unsynced data.
  5. Record the result and change one variable at a time. Keep the account and device unchanged while comparing other suitable routes. Changing only one condition at a time makes it easier to tell whether the issue comes from exit IP detection, the app environment or your local network.

Clients are available for Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux. Get clients and subscriptions through the user panel; sign in to view subscription details. For iOS, follow the eligibility notice in the panel. Do not paste your subscription link into third-party checking sites; it contains information needed to access your subscription.

Common error messages and how to handle them

Error codes vary by platform, app version and device, and similar codes do not always indicate the same issue. Start by reading the full message, then check the platform’s current help documentation. This page groups issues by message meaning rather than assigning unverified causes to specific codes.

The platform says it detected a proxy or VPN. What should I do?

This usually means the platform has restricted the current exit or access environment; it does not necessarily mean the client failed to connect. First check that the player is using the selected route, then try another suitable route in the panel and reopen the app. If the message persists, note the full error text and route name and contact support through a ticket. Repeatedly refreshing is not a fix.

The platform says this region is unavailable, or you can’t find a title?

The issue may involve the platform’s service area, content rights, account market or exit IP location. First determine whether the whole service is unavailable or just one title, then check whether the content is in the current catalog. Switching to a nearby region does not grant the same rights. If your account market determines your content, changing the exit alone may not change what’s available.

Playback error, loading failure or constant buffering?

First check whether regular webpages load, then try playing other titles. If only one title fails, check the content and its rights first. If nothing plays, check the connection, app updates, system time and routing settings. For ongoing buffering, pause background transfers and compare your local network with other suitable routes to determine whether throughput is consistently low or fluctuating.

A device, browser or content protection incompatibility message?

These messages are often related to DRM, supported apps or browsers, or an external display connection. Update to an app or browser supported by the platform and check your display and connection method. If standard picture quality works but higher quality does not, troubleshoot the playback environment first; there is no need to keep switching regions.

Need help from support? What should you include in a ticket?

Submit a ticket through the user panel with the platform name, target title, route name, device operating system, app or browser, approximate time and full error message. Say whether other titles work. Redact account details in screenshots; do not send passwords, sensitive payment information or your full subscription link.

Streaming data usage and choosing a plan

Video data usage depends on bitrate, playback duration, picture quality changes and preloading. The same viewing time can use different amounts of data depending on the title and device. This page does not convert plan data into a fixed number of viewing hours. Instead, track your actual usage and choose a data tier that fits.

Monthly subscriptions: ¥9.9/month includes 60GB · ¥18/month includes 250GB · ¥28/month includes 500GB. Data resets monthly on the activation date; mid-cycle upgrades are prorated by the remaining days. If you watch regularly, use the panel’s usage records to estimate your monthly needs instead of choosing a plan based only on its highest picture quality label.

Data packages: ¥158/300GB · ¥358/1000GB · ¥658/3000GB. Data is used until it runs out and never expires. If your viewing is occasional or your usage varies, compare this option with a monthly subscription. No expiration refers to the validity of the data, not long-term availability of any streaming platform or region.

X5VPN has no device limit, but streaming platforms still set their own rules for simultaneous playback, household members and device authorization. Sharing a local network may also affect playback stability, so keep an eye on data-heavy activity from other devices while streaming.
